He said it was designed and built specifically to kill Superman, and he shot him in the shoulder with what Superman described as kryptonite needles. Superman knocked him down and said it was time to go to jail, but Bloodsport talked a little more about fighting in the war, and then a gun materialized in his hand. Superman quickly saved a woman who Bloodsport was about to kill thanks to his super-speed, but he ended up biting off more than he expected in the fight.
He sounded like a veteran that was dealing with severe trauma, but that turned out not to be the case. Superman finally tracked him to a bowling alley where Bloodsport was shooting the place up and telling people they don't deserve the freedom that he fought for. Angry at the sight of 25 dead bodies for no apparent reason, Superman went after Bloodsport to take him down. Olsen called Superman for help but was shocked when he saw all those dead bodies. Jimmy Olsen called Superman to help when Bloodsport attacked a restaurant that Olsen was at, gunning down several innocent people. While he'll be teaming up with Harley Quinn and DC's most despicable villains, Bloodsport began life as a Superman villain, who managed to put the Man of Steel in the hospital in his first appearance in 1987's Superman #4 by John Byrne, Karl Kesel, Anthony Tollin and John Costanza. While Idris Elba helped save the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the all-seeing Heimdall, he's about to join the DCEU as Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad.
